This series plays on the generally
accepted concept that a photograph cannot lie. There is no reality in
a photograph, even by traditional means, but with the proliferation of
digital photography we can no longer trust our eyes. Only the ethics of
the photographer determines whether we can trust anything in his images.
Plus, I was sick of people asking why I shoot on multiple rolls of film.
For some reason people think that it wouldn't make a difference visually.
As you can see, they are wrong. With these ideas in mind I shot the same
image of a sheet of 8x10 film and with my three rolls of 120mm format.
The same lens and tripod setup were used each time. The series was begun
in 2004 and I periodically add to it. All series depicted on this site
have a minimum of 30 images most series have over 100 images. |
